The aim of the course

The aim of this course is to acquaint students with the research methodology and enable them to work independently in the field of e-health. The course is focused on combining technological and business aspects of e-health in order to develop innovative approaches, methods and services based on modern information technologies.


Course outcome

Students are trained to plan, implement and publish the results of scientific research in the field of e-health.


Course content

Introducing students to current research topics in the field of e-health. Methodology of scientific research work in the field of e-health. Electronic health system. Modeling of electronic health system infrastructure. Electronic Health Record (EHR). Personalized Health Record (PHR). Health e-business management. Interoperability issues and standardization in e-health. Quality management of e-health services. Analysis of new business models in e-health. eHealth-as-a-Service (eHaaS). Crowdsourcing models in e-health. Internet marketing plan of health institutions. Digital marketing and social media in health promotion. Methodological procedure of health promotion. Mobile-based eHealth models (mHealth). SmartHealthcare models. Telemedicine. Telerehabilitation. The Internet of Intelligent Devices in Healthcare (The Internet of Medical Things). Assistive technologies in e-health, ambient assisted living. Body-sensor networks. Wearable computing in healthcare. Context-aware services in electronic health systems. Automatic disease detection systems. Virtual and augmented reality in e-health. Analysis of the application of artificial intelligence in healthcare: chatbots, personalization, smart services, referral systems. Application of games (Gamification) in Healthcare training. Application of Blockchain technologies in e-health. Open data analysis. Big data analytics in healthcare. New technologies for data visualization, immersive visualizations. Analysis of current scientific research papers and projects in the field of e-health. Planning and implementation of scientific research in the field of e-health. Analysis of legal and ethical norms in e-health and specifics of the research procedure in e-health.
