Theoretical classes
Introduction to cyber psychology.Development of cyber psychology.Architecture and functioning of cyberspace.Digital communication.Online identity and social media.Online/offline socialization.Group dynamics in cyberspace.Addiction to Internet technology and mental health.Virtual reality.Technohumanism.Internet abuse.Cyber psychology and communication in e-commerce, e-health, digital marketing and social media.
Practical teaching:
Workshops, case studies, discussions on topics covered by theoretical classes.Preparation of seminar paper.
The aim of the course
The aim is to get acquainted with the basics of the use and impact of digital technologies by exploring the psychological implications of cyberspace and new technologies on human behavior.The course relies on several areas of psychology – social, developmental, neuro-cognitive and learning psychology.
Outcome of the course
Understanding the influence of the Internet on the functioning of the psyche, relationships and feelings of oneself and other people in cyberspace.Perception of psychological phenomena related to digital technology – technology-mediated communication and interaction, techno-anxiety and online abuse.
