Scope

The development of digital technologies is changing the way of exchanging information among people. In modern business ecosystems data and information are traded intensively. Problems related to safety, security and privacy in the management of business transactions are emerging. Due to the large number of electronic transactions carried out on a daily basis, various frauds can occur. Blockchain technology can solve these problems because provides a distributed, unchangeable, transparent and secure ledger in which all transactions of money are reliably recorded. It is based on a distributed database, which consists of encrypted data that cannot be changed or copied. The main characteristics of blockchain technology are decentralization, anonymity, auditability, security, increased capacity, transparency, reliability, and immutability. The main subject of the special issue is blockchain technologies and their application in e-business, digital marketing, banking, finance, government, industry, law, science and education, healthcare, energetics, agriculture, ecology, smart environments, etc. This special issue aims to provide state-of-art and papers related to the design of innovative ecosystems based on blockchain, the implementation of the blockchain infrastructure and the integration with related technologies: Cloud Computing, Big Data, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Social Computing, Virtual and Augmented Reality, etc. Findings and discussion of the special issue should improve the potential of the research and development in the academic, industry, and business environments.

Journal and indexing information

The scientific journal Facta Universitatis has been published by the University of Niš since 1986. The Journal currently comprises 13 series including Electronics and Energetics. Journal is indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection Emerging Sources Citation Index (eSCI). Submission and publication are completely free of charge for all contributors. The journal is published quarterly. All papers are blind-reviewed. This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
